The NBA wants to reduce player salary costs by $750 million-$800
million, or nearly 35%, NBA Commissioner David Stern told news reporters
Thursday.
"Well, what we told our players initially is there's a swing," Stern
said after two days of meetings with club owners. "We would like to get
profitable, have a return on investment. There's a swing of somewhere
in the neighborhood of $750 to $800 million that we would like to
change. That's our story, and we're sticking with it."
