The typical "Angry- Black Woman" and her ugly ass Attitude

Now I'm not making any excuses for any other black women and the reasons for their attitudes towards men, specifically black men, but I will try to assert my opinion about what the attitude could have stemmed from.

Women in general are emotional creatures, regardless of the fact that some of us like to say we're heartless and dont give a fuck and stuff like that, we are emotional creatures. Some of us just really know how to suppress and hide those true emotions from the rest of the world. Black women, generalized, are said to have more attitude than any other race of women. This attitude is what drives black men away and makes them want to date other women of different races, which in results makes some black women even more furious, not me because as long as a man is happy with his woman then I'm happy for him. The attitude is much more than just the attitude because it also deals with body language. The attitude consist of yelling, neck rolling, eyes rolling, bickering and probably a little more. But it's basically a good ass acting job in one of the most dramatic plays ever written; too bad its not really acting though.

I cant and dont even want to say black women have attitudes because they have an issues that some men probably dont want to hear and listen to. All women will have even the slightest attitude with a dude if he comes up to her in the mall,  athough he approaches her respectfully, she has her mind on something else. Could be an ex, could be her family, she could have just got laid off, she could be cramping, someone could have just died and she found out. These are excuses, these are actual real reason why a woman could give you an attitude even though you were just saying "Hi". Another possible reason for the attitude, especially in black women, is because that's what they grew up around. If the woman saw her mama being loud, rude, and disrespectful to a black man then she thinks that's how it's supposed to be. She thinks thats how she's supposed to act when a man, no matter the race, upsets her or disappoints her. Monkey see, monkey do. Another possible reason for the infamous BWA ( black woman's attitude) could be her friends. Let's say your girlfriend's friend saw you talking to some girl and she noticed you guys hugged and she quickly calls her up and tells her what she saw, blowing it all out of proption and adding details that didnt even happen. When you girlfriend confronts you about it and you try to tell her the honest truth then she wont believe you and demands the truth from you because her friend told your her "her" side of what she thought she knew. Some other possibilties could be that she was hurt from a past relationship and has trust issues, she's bitter, she might not be into black guys, and etc. Still not convinced or not persuaded.

Well what you could do as the black man is stop complaining about the stereotypical black girl/ women attitude and when you approach the girl and she snaps back with the typical attitude ask her why is it that she has an attitude. Women, shoot, human beings want to be understood. So maybe if you ask her why the attitude then maybe you could get to the bottom of the real reason. There is a reason for everything. And please stop generalizing too because I do know alot of black women who dont have that stereotypical typical black girl attitude.

U.S. To Apologize For Intentionally Infecting Mental Patients And Others With STD’s

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Heath and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will apologize for intentionally infecting patients in Guatemala with gonorrhea and syphilis without their knowledge or permission more than 60 years ago.

Many of those infected were encouraged to pass the infection onto others as part of the study.
About one third of those who were infected never got adequate treatment.
The apology will be directed to Guatemala and to American Hispanics. The experiments, conducted between 1946 and 1948, provided no useful information and records were hidden. It was discovered by Susan Reverby (pictured), professor of Women’s Studies at Wellesley.

The researchers were trying to determine whether the antibiotic penicillin could prevent early syphilis infection, not just cure it, Reverby writes. After the subjects were infected with the syphilis bacteria — through visits with prostitutes who had the disease and direct inoculations — Reverby notes that it is unclear whether they were later cured or given proper treatment.

Reverby made the discovery as part of her work studying the Tuskegee experiments conduced between 1932 and 1972, where hundreds of African-American men were being told they were treated for syphilis but were actually denied treatment. The United States apologized for that shameful episode in 1997.

Emma Thompson joins Men in Black 3

emma-thompson.jpg
IF you were among those groaning at the idea of another Men in Black movie, then news that Oscar-winner Emma Thompson is joining the cast may perk up your interest.

According to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is in talks to play Agent O (which, for some reason, other sites are spelling out as Oh, making it sound like she is mildly surprised).

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are returning to the roles of Agent J and Agent K, with Josh Brolin joining the cast and Jermaine Clement in talks to play the villain Yaz.

In the story, Yaz goes back in time to kill K which sets off a chain of events that end in the destruction of the world.
Agent J is then sent back in time to 1969, where he teams up with a young K (Brolin) to stop Yaz. Thompson's Agent O is a lead MIB agent from the 60s who is monitoring a prison break.

Barry Sonnenfeld, who helmed the first two films, returns to direct this latest instalment, from a script by David Koepp. It's set for release in 3D on May 25, 2012.

Emma Thompson's credits include The Remains of the Day, In the Name of the Father, Love Actually, An Education, the Harry Potter films and both Nanny McPhee movies.

She has won two Oscars, a Best Actress gong for Howard's End and a Best Adapted Screenplay award for Sense and Sensibility.

The Social Network Reviews Rate Facebook Movie a Must-See

The Social Network reviews rank it among the year's best
The Social Network reviews are the best of most any movie this year – across the board, critics agree that The Social Network is a must-see.
The Social Network tells the tale of Mark Zuckerberg, the youngest billionaire in history, who co-founded Facebook. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Sports Night) and the film is directed by David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club, The Game), so really great minds are at work in bringing this story to the big screen.
The Social Network scores a 97% on the RottenTomatoes Tomatometer, based on 115 critics’ reviews, while Metacritic ranks the film at a 98 out of 100, based on 36 critics’ reviews.
Here are some of The Social Network’s reviews:

Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times: “David Fincher’s film has the rare quality of being not only as smart as its brilliant hero, but in the same way. It is cocksure, impatient, cold, exciting and instinctively perceptive.”
Peter Travers, Rolling Stone: “The Social Network is the movie of the year. But Fincher and Sorkin triumph by taking it further. Lacing their scathing wit with an aching sadness, they define the dark irony of the past decade.”

Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times: “Smartly written by Aaron Sorkin, directed to within an inch of its life by David Fincher and anchored by a perfectly pitched performance by Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network is a barn-burner of a tale that unfolds at a splendid clip.”

Lou Lumenick, New York Post: “Quite possibly the first truly great fact-based movie of the 21st century.”
Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal: “This account of Facebook’s founder, and of the website’s explosive growth, quickly lifts you to a state of exhilaration, and pretty much keeps you there for two hours.”

Manohla Dargis, The New York Times: “When Mr. Eisenberg makes Mark’s face go blank, the character seems scarily emptied out: it’s a subtly great, at times unsettling, performance.”

Sex Line Listed On Ochocinco’s Cereal Boxes

ochocinco's cereal

Since a big week one performance, the Bengals' Chad Ochocinco has been rather quiet on the field.  However, his Ochocinco's Cereal is making some noise of its own off the field, and it has nothing to do with their great tasting honey nut toasted oats.

Proceeds from the cereal are intended to support Feed The Children, and a telephone number for the charity was also placed on the box for those interested in finding out more about the charity and making additional donations.  However, those who were in a giving mode and decided to call the line were received by the sensual voice of a woman who sounds like she is in the mood to do some giving of her own, if you know what I mean.

Rather that printing the actual number for Feed The Children, which happens to be 1-888-HELP-FTC, the number that appears on boxes of Ochocinco's is 1-800-HELP-FTC, which will connect you to a sex line with a message much to explicit to be repeated on this site.

Kroger Co. and PBL Sports are looking into the matter, but in the meantime, this mix up will likely have many people wondering exactly what Ochocinco and company are feeding the children.

Eric Cartman to Lead North Korea to Glorious Ruin

OMG! That delighted, high-pitched, government-mandated collective squee you heard yesterday was the sound of every North Korean girl forcibly expressing "joy." The generous government in Pyongyang released the first-ever public photograph of Kim Jong-Un, the twenty-something understudy for the role of Evil Dictator currently filled by his dad, Kim Jong-Il. And he bears a remarkable resemblance to one Eric Cartman!

But let's look behind the young heartbreaker's facade and find out more about Kim Jong-Un, the purported future leader of the world's most diplomatically isolated country. Take it away, New York Times
Earlier this week, at a landmark meeting of the Workers’ Party in Pyongyang, the younger Mr. Kim, who is believed to be 27 or 28, was given the rank of four-star general in the People’s Army and was named a deputy chairman of the party’s military commission. He also became a member of the Central Committee of the party, an ideological and policy-making post.
On Thursday, North Korean state media released a picture of Kim Jong-un, news agencies reported. Very little is known about the heir apparent, and few pictures of him have been seen publicly, both in Korea and in the outside world.
Oh, well that clears things up. Let's fill in the blanks. Based on the official photograph, we can assume that young Kim Jong-un finds official photography sessions to be rather dull, or at least not joyful. We can also rest assured that while thousands of other North Koreans (particularly children) may be dying each month from starvation, Kim Jr. has access to all the Cheesy Poofs he can handle. Om nom nom, Kim Jong-un!

FBI Says Ex-NY University Official Forced Students to Perform Chores For Scholarships

SJ_LogoBy Allan Lengel

Now it’s the feds turn to teach Cecilia Chang, former vice president and dean of a New York university, a big lesson.

Federal authorities in New York on Wednesday indicted the former St. John’s University official for allegedly threatening to revoke scholarships if students failed to carry out certain tasks like cook, shovel snow, clean, wash clothes and chauffeur her family, who lives in Queens.

She also had students deliver money to her at a casino, authorities alleged in a court document. She is charged with soliciting and accepting payments of things of value as an agent of an organization and forced labor.
FBI agent Kenneth F. Hosey in an affidavit said that Chang had the authority to grant “discretionary scholarships” to up to 15 students each year.

“Chang threatened the students and placed them in fear that if they refused to perform these personal services, they would lose their scholarships and be unable to attend St. John’s,” Hosey wrote.

The Governator Decriminalizes Pot In California

…because of course he did. Look at this guy.

Despite his opposition to Prop 19, Arnie just signed a consolation prize for stoney baloneys in California. From Salem-News:
To the Members of the California State Senate:
I am signing Senate Bill 1449.
This bill changes the crime of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana from a misdemeanor punishable only by a $100 fine to an infraction punishable by a $100 fine. Under existing law, jail time cannot be imposed, probation cannot be ordered, nor can the base fine exceed $100 for someone convicted of this crime.
I am opposed to decriminalizing the possession and recreational use of marijuana and oppose Proposition 19, which is on the November ballot.
Unfortunately, Proposition 19 is a deeply flawed measure that, if passed, will adversely impact California’s businesses without bringing in the tax revenues to the state promised by its proponents.
Notwithstanding my opposition to Proposition 19, however, I am signing this measure because possession of less than an ounce of marijuana is an infraction in everything but name. The only difference is that because it is a misdemeanor, a criminal defendant is entitled to a jury trial and a defense attorney.
In this time of drastic budget cuts, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement, and the courts cannot afford to expend limited resources prosecuting a crime that carries the same punishment as a traffic ticket.
As noted by the Judicial Council in its support of this measure, the appointment of counsel and the availability of a jury trial should be reserved for defendants who are facing loss of life, liberty, or property greater than $100.
For these reasons, I am signing this bill.
Sincerely, Arnold Schwarzenegger
According to the LA Times, the bill goes into effect January 1, 2011.

'A-Team,' 'Rockford Files' creator Stephen J. Cannell dies

'A-Team,' 'Rockford Files' creator Stephen J. Cannell dies

Stephen J. Cannell

Credit: AP
Stephen J. Cannell, one of the most successful television producers of the '70s, '80s and '90s, died on Thursday (Sept. 30) evening. He was 69.

The cause of death was complications from melanoma.

A statement on Cannell's official website reads, "With profound sadness, we have to announce that our dear friend and colleague, Stephen Cannell, has lost a brave fight against cancer. He passed away at his home last night. He will be missed beyond measure by the Cannell Team and all of us who had the privilege and the plain good luck to know and work with him. Through the legacy of his body of work, with which he was able to entertain and enrich the lives of millions of viewers and thousands of readers, he will always be with us, living on in our hearts and minds, with fond memories forever."

Cannell cut his teeth as a writer on shows including "Ironside" and "Columbo," but made his biggest mark as creator or co-creator of dramas including "The Rockford Files," "The Greatest American Hero," "Hardcastle and McCormick," "Baretta," "The A-Team," "Wiseguy," "Hunter," "21 Jump Street," "Silk Stalkings" and "The Commish."

Any Emmy winner in 1978 for producing "The Rockford Files," Cannell earned later Emmy nods for writing the "Tenspeed and Brown Shoe" and "Greatest American Hero" pilots and for producing "Wiseguy."

Cannell also wrote 16 novels, more pilots than IMDB could possibly count, several telefilms and served as producer on dozens of additional shows he didn't create. We could also make note of his influential role in building up the production infrastructure in Vancouver, or his fierce advocacy work to raise awareness of dyslexia.

He also frequently acted, with credits including "Renegade," and was most recently seen as himself on episodes of ABC's "Castle."

HitFix's Alan Sepinwall will offer his salute to Stephen J. Cannell later in the day.

Dudley Says More Fed Easing Is Warranted Unless Economic Outlook Changes

Federal Reserve Bank of New York President William Dudley said the outlook for U.S. job growth and inflation is “unacceptable” and that more monetary easing is probably needed to spur growth and avert deflation.

“We have tools that can provide additional stimulus at costs that do not appear to be prohibitive,” Dudley, who serves as vice chairman of the Fed’s policy-setting Open Market Committee, said today in a speech to business journalists in New York. “Further action is likely to be warranted unless the economic outlook evolves in a way that makes me more confident that we will see better outcomes for both employment and inflation before too long.”

Dudley’s remarks are one of the clearest signs that policy makers will start a second round of unconventional monetary easing as soon as the FOMC’s next meeting Nov. 2-3. While other Fed officials voiced a range of views in speeches this week, Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said yesterday that the central bank has a duty to aid the U.S. economy as the jobless rate holds near 10 percent.

Lowering long-term interest rates by restarting purchases of Treasuries or mortgage debt would have a “significant” effect on the economy by supporting the value of homes and stocks, making housing and refinancing mortgages more affordable and reducing the cost of capital for businesses, Dudley, 57, said to a Society of American Business Editors and Writers conference.

Deflation Concern

“Both the current levels of unemployment and inflation and the timeframe over which they are likely to return to levels consistent with our mandate are unacceptable,” Dudley said. “The longer this situation prevails and the U.S. economy is stuck with the current level of slack and disinflationary pressure, the greater the likelihood that a further shock could push us still further from our dual mandate objectives and closer to outright deflation.”

Treasuries declined after reports showed U.S. consumer spending rose more than forecast in August and manufacturing in China expanded at the fastest pace in four months in September.

Journal: Bin Laden, Dead or Alive, Makes Sense

Huffington Post Story
Bin Laden Tape: Terror Leader Criticizes Muslim Governments For Military Spending
CAIRO — Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden called for the creation of a new relief body to help Muslims in an audiotape released Friday, seeking to exploit discontent following this summer’s devastating floods in Pakistan by depicting the region’s governments as uncaring.

It was the third message in recent weeks from al-Qaida figures concerning the massive floods that affected around 20 million people in Pakistan, signaling a concentrated campaign by the terror group to tap into anger over the flooding to rally support.

But while the earlier messages by subordinates were angry, urging followers to rise up, bin Laden took a softer, even humanitarian tone – apparently trying to broaden al-Qaida’s appeal by presenting his group as a problem-solving protector of the poor.

“What governments spend on relief work is secondary to what they spend on armies,” bin Laden says on the 11-minute tape titled “Reflections on the Method of Relief Work.”

“If governments spent (on relief) only one percent of what is spent on armies, they would change the face of the world for poor people,” he said

Phi Beta Iota: We believe Bin Laden to be dead or comatose, but it merits comment that some people do take on a life of their own after death, as with many prophets whose messages are refined or corrupted, but carried on.  What should shock and awe here is that this message makes a great deal more sense than the current US strategy of spending trillions on elective occupations and Wall Street bail-outs, and nothing at all on eight of the ten high-level threats to humanity, with stark poverty in the USA and elsewhere being #1.

Johnson & Wales Student Commits Suicide by Michael Airhart

Campus Pride Demands National Action to Address LGBT Youth Bullying, Harassment and Suicide
Raymond ChaseIn the wake of two college suicides — Tyler Clementi of Rutgers University and Raymond Chase of Johnson & Wales — Campus Pride reissues findings and recommendations from the “2010 State of Higher Education for LGBT People” released last week at a U.S. congressional briefing on Capitol Hill

Providence, Rhode Island — Campus Pride, the nation’s leading non-profit organization working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and ally college and university students, offers its condolences and support to the family of Raymond Chase who reportedly hung himself in his residence hall room this past Wednesday, September 29, 2010 on the campus of Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island.

“The loss of Raymond this week is the second college LGBT-related suicide in a week and the fifth teenage LGBT suicide in three weeks. The suicide of this openly gay young man is for reasons currently unknown; however, the recent pattern of LGBT youth suicides is cause for grave concern,” said Shane Windmeyer, executive director and founder of Campus Pride. “Campus Pride demands national action be taken to address youth bullying, harassment and the need for safety and inclusion for LGBT youth at colleges and universities across the country. We must not let these tragic deaths go unnoticed. Together we must act decisively to curb anti-LGBT bias incidents, harassment and acts of violence.”

Through its Q Research Institute for Higher Education, Campus Pride released last week its “2010 State of Higher Education for LGBT People” (executive summary). The in-depth research study is the most comprehensive national LGBT higher education study of its kind. Campus Pride surveyed more than 5,000 LGBT students, faculty and staff for the report. Findings demonstrate that these recent suicides and incidents of harassment are neither rare nor fleeting– they are REAL.
Among the findings in the report:
  • One quarter (23%) of LGBQ staff, faculty, and students reported experiencing harassment (defined as any conduct that has interfered with your ability to work or learn). Almost all identified sexual identity as the basis of the harassment (83%). An even greater percentage of transgender students, faculty, & staff reported experiencing harassment (39%) with 87% identifying their gender identity/expression as the basis for the harassment. The form of the harassment experiences by transgender people was more overt and blatant.
  • One-third of LGBQ (33%) and transgender (38%) students, faculty, and staff have seriously considered leaving their institution due to the challenging climate.
  • More than half of all faculty, students, & staff hide their sexual identity (43%) or gender identity (63%) to avoid intimidation.
  • More than a third of all transgender students, faculty, & staff(43%) and13% of LGBQ respondents feared for their physical safety. This finding was more salient for LGBQ students and for LGBQ and/or Transgender People of Color.
Campus Pride is the leading national nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) for student leaders and campus organizations working to create safer, more LGBT-friendly colleges and universities. It exists to give “voice and action” in building future LGBT and ally leaders. More info online at www.campuspride.org.

Video: Eminem f/ Lil Wayne – ‘No Love’

Eminem and Lil Wayne
Eminem shines the spotlight on victims of bullies in the dramatic video for “No Love,” the third single off his double-platinum album Recovery. Lil Wayne, who filmed his part pre-jail, appears in front of a swirl of smoke as Em paces behind him, with interspersed clips showing a teenager getting kicked around when he’s down. Later, the two hit the studio with producer Just Blaze, who laced the track with its sample of Haddaway’s “What Is Love.”

“I’ve always respected what Wayne does,” Em said in a previous interview. “Wayne to me is definitely one of the greatest in the game right now.”

R&B singer Mario arrested for assault

[UPDATED INFORMATION, including that police were dispatched to the home for a "mental case," as well as the mother's account of her injuries, after the jump]

Baltimore-born R&B singer Mario was arrested and charged early this morning after police responded to an altercation that involved his mother, according to court records and two law enforcement sources.

There are few details at the moment, but court records show Mario - whose full name is Mario Dewar Barrett - is charged with one count of second-degree assault. Sources said they were called to the 900 block of Fell St. after the singer's mother called police.

The 24-year-old was held on $50,000 bond by a District Court commissioner, which he posted and was released. Photo at left is from Central Booking.

A few years ago, the singer started a charity to mentor and support children of drug addicts. The Sun reported that the charity was a personal cause, as his mother has struggled for years with heroin addiction. Shawntia Hardaway's story was chronicled on an emotional MTV special, I Won't Love You To Death: The Story of Mario and His Mom. At the time of the article, she had been sober for a year, and was helping Mario with the foundation.

He's appeared in several movies and Dancing with the Stars, released four studio albums, and in 2008 then-City Council President and now Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake gave Mario the keys to the city.
We just received the statement of probable cause from the police:

At 12:53 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Fells St for a call for a "mental case breaking up property" inside an apartment. Officers met Hardaway in the front lobby - she was crying and appeared very upset, officers wrote. She said Mario was "throwing and damaging property" in the apartment they share, and had pushed her using his hands and forearms, causing minor pain. When police went up to the apartment, they found a damaged china cabinet and the floor littered with broken glass. A mirror was broken, and there was a large hole in a closet door.

She said it was the second such time he had put his hands on her in recent days - on Sept. 27, she said, they got into an argument in which he pushed her "eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall," police wrote in charging documents.

"When this officer asked the victim if she fears for her life in reference to her son's actions, the victim replied 'yes'," the officer wrote.

No word on what sparked either incident.

Here's a clip from the MTV special:

Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei Could Face Bias Charges

Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei Could Face Bias Charges

NEW YORK (LALATE) – Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei (photos below) could now face bias charges. Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei were charged last week with invasion counts; but in a statement to news late tonight, local prosecutors confirm they are investigating possible addition of biases charges. If added, the charges would follow comments from the Governor today asked for his AG to investigate the likelihood of such counts.

Last Wednesday, Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei were charged with illegally taping fellow Rutgers freshman Tyler Clemente. A week ago Wednesday, Ravi, 18, was freed on $25,000 bail and Wei, 18, was released on her own recognizance. Each were charged with invasion of privacy for the September 19 broadcast. Ravi was charged with two more counts of invasion of privacy for the attempted September 21st recording that failed.

But today, local county Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan said in a statement that the charges could now be supplemented. “The initial focus of this investigation has been to determine who was responsible for remotely activating the camera in the dormitory room of the student and then transmitting the encounter on the Internet.”

“Now that two individuals have been charged with invasion of privacy, we will be making every effort to assess whether bias played a role in the incident, and, if so, we will bring appropriate charges.”

Within hours of Ravi and Wei being released, Clementi committed suicide.

Ravi ridicules Clementi’s desire for private time with a male companion in his online tweets. Ravi thereafter deleted the tweets in the attempt to cover up his tracks.

On the twitter account of “Dharun” (since deleted), Dharum Ravi on the 19th twittered “Roommate asked for the room till midnight, I went into molly’s room and turned on my webcam. I saw him making out with a dude. Yay.”

Governor Christie said to news today “I think it’s inappropriate for the governor to get involved in instructing the attorney general in areas of criminal prosecution”.  But while not “instructing”, Christie allegedly is talking to Attorney General Paula Dow about bias charges being applicable in this case.
Ravi was Clementi’s roommate and “Molly” was Ravi’s high school friend who also made the move to Rutgers. Dharun allegedly went to Wei’s room, set up a live streaming video feed online for others to watch his roommate have relations with his boyfriend. Thereafter, Ravi allegedly posted images of the two males.

On September 21, Ravi tried to do it again. He thereafter posted to twitter “Anyone with iChat? I dare you to video chat me between the hours of 9:30 and 12. Yes, it’s happening again.”

Rutgers University President Richard L. McCormick issued a news statement Thursday asking for his campus to learn from their tragic loss. “It is up to us at Rutgers to honor this young man’s life by reaffirming, and living up to, our commitment to the values of civility, dignity, compassion, and respect for one another.”

Obama Chief Of Staff Rahm Emanuel Quits White House To Run For Mayor Of Chicago

The rumors were true. Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will resign tomorrow to run for mayor of Chicago. Earlier this month six-term Chicago Mayor Richard Daley announced that he would not seek another term.
The White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, at his daily briefing on Thursday afternoon said that the president will give two personnel announcements on Friday morning from the East Room of the White House. Mr. Gibbs, admitting that he was being purposely “oblique,” would not confirm whether the announcements would concern Mr. Emanuel. The two officials, who declined to be named in advance of the official announcement, confirmed that Mr. Obama plans to name Pete Rouse, a senior adviser, to replace Mr. Emanuel. Mr. Rouse has been at the president’s side since Mr. Obama arrived in Washington nearly six years ago as a senator, serving as his chief of staff.
