Student Faces 2 – 8 Years in Prison for High School Prank with a Sex Doll

Your Black World reports.
Tyell Morton, like many 18 -year olds, wanted to play a prank before graduation.  So, the student sneaked into his high school in the middle of the night and placed a blowup sex doll in the stalls of one of the bathrooms.  Little did he know, his actions might label him a felon for the rest of his life.

A janitor at Rushville Consolidated High School saw Morton running away from the school on May 31.  Also, security cameras watched him go into the building with a hoodie and gloves, carrying a package.  When the footage also showed him leaving without the package, that’s when the school called in the bomb squad and K-9 units, fearing that he’d delivered a bomb.  Instead of finding a complex device designed to blow them to bits, they instead found a blow up sex doll.  As a result of his stunt, the 18-year old might begin adulthood from a prison cell.

Jonathan Turley at George Washington University asked a series of questions about this case, including this one:

“The question is what type of society we are creating when our children have to fear that a prank (could) lead them to jail for almost a decade. What type of citizens are we creating who fear the arbitrary use of criminal charges by their government?”

“We have reviewed this situation numerous times,” Rush County Schools Superintendent John E. Williams told the Indianapolis Star. “When you have an unknown intruder in the building, delivering an unknown package, we come up with the same conclusion. … We cannot be too cautious, in this day and age.”
Morton has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and institutional criminal mischief, with the second charge being a felony that could send him to prison for two to eight years.

“I know there has been plenty of pranks done at that school,” said Morton’s mother, Cammie Morton. “I went to that school. When I heard what they was charging him for, my heart just dropped.”
Joel Schumm, a law Professor at Indiana University – Indianapolis, questions the merit of the charge.
“Their reaction is understandable, but use the school disciplinary process,” he said. “Don’t try to label the kid a felon for the rest of his life.”

The prosecutor in the case, Philip J. Caviness of Rush County, told the AP that he won’t seek the maximum sentence for Morton.  But he does stand by the charges.

“I’m pretty comfortable with the charges that we’ve filed,” he said.
There you have it:  if you do the wrong thing with a sex doll, then you suddenly become the next Osama bin Laden.  God bless America.

Racial Tensions Rise as 14 Black Males are Charged in Rape of 11-Year Old Girl

Your Black World reports.
The town of Cleveland, Texas is not exactly known for being racially-progressive.  The state of Texas has a long history of racially-controversial decisions within the criminal justice system.  The image of both the town and the state didn’t get any better this week, as 14 black males were charged with the alleged rape of an 11-year old girl.  The sexual assault was reported to police after one of the girl’s classmates saw the assault on a cell phone video that was being passed around her school.

The men are expected to appear in court on Wednesday to face charges.  Five of those being accused are juveniles.   Police are saying that the girl was raped on at least five different occasions, from September through December.   The suspects have a broad age range, with the youngest being a middle school student, and the oldest being 27-years old.  Additionally, two star athletes have been charged as well.

Most of the men are being charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, and four of them face charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child.  Most of the men have pleaded not guilty.

The girl is Hispanic, with parents who immigrated from Mexico.  She’s been taken out of the care of her parents and placed in foster care.  Many black residents of the town are arguing that the arrests were racially-motivated.

The idea is simple enough: Create a cloud-based software tool that can comb through the entire universe of military intelligence reports for a given region, group, or individual and come back with actionable intel that battlefield commanders can use on the ground, and do it in realtime. But a couple of analysts that have used the system, as well as documentation obtained by Politico, show that the tool is hurting more than it is helping because it doesn’t work properly. And that’s when it works at all.

The Distributed Common Ground System, or DCGS-A as it’s known in milspeak, was conceived as a means of parsing the reams of intelligence reports, drone data, and other battlefield reportage and delivering to commanders the intelligence they need right when they need it--even during actual combat activities.

So, for instance, if a unit is tracking an insurgent the system would allow a commander to pull up all the recent intelligence reports generated about that individual, and plot his activities or known whereabouts on a map for simpler geographical tracking. The commander could also quickly draw connections between that subject and others in the region, helping him to connect the dots and perhaps close in on the subject through his or her associations.

China raised interest rates for the third time this year on Wednesday, making clear that taming inflation remains a top priority even as the growth pace of its vast economy gently eases.
The 25-basis-point increase in lending and deposit rates underscored China's quiet confidence that the world's second-biggest economy is resilient enough to endure tighter monetary policy and is not threatened by the hard landing that some investors fear.

The ‘Stimulus’ Act: Propping Up America’s Debt

By Rebekah Rast
There is now no refuting that President Obama’s “stimulus” act was a failure.
On July 1, the president’s Council of Economic Advisers released The Economic Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Seventh Quarterly Report. The report made clear that the only real growth and impact of the president’s stimulus package was on the national debt, and did very little, if anything at all, to create jobs.

The Weekly Standard summarized the report stating, “the ‘stimulus’ has added or saved just under 2.4 million jobs — whether private or public — at a cost (to date) of $666 billion. That’s a cost to taxpayers of $278,000 per job.”
In other words, the Weekly Standard went on to report, “the government could simply have cut a $100,000 check to everyone whose employment was allegedly made possible by the ‘stimulus,’ and taxpayers would have come out $427 billion ahead.”

A reverse stimulus was not part of the plan, but goes to show that government meddling in the economy in no way aids a recovery.

“This proves that over the past few months, the economy would have saved and created more jobs with no government involvement than it has with it,” says Bill Wilson, president of Americans for Limited Government (ALG). “The ‘stimulus’ has done nothing but prevent the U.S. economy from recovering.”
Despite the reported erroneousness of the “stimulus” act and despite the fact that under the law spending was set to end in June, that end has yet to be seen.

On June 15, the U.S. Department of Labor set aside $800 million for the state of California from the “stimulus” package so it could continue to pay out unemployment insurance. The state boasts an unemployment rate of 11.7 percent, higher than the national average, and apparently cannot afford to continue to pay unemployment insurance for all those without jobs.

But how can unemployment still be a problem when Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed that unemployment insurance creates jobs faster than any other program? In July of 2010, Pelosi is quoted as saying, “Let me say that unemployment insurance… is one of the biggest stimuluses (sic) to our economy. Economists will tell you, this money is spent quickly. It injects demand into the economy, and it’s job creating. It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”

The UN’s climate of desperation

By David Rothbard and Craig Rucker
As the UN wrapped up its recent climate conference in Bonn, Germany, talks organizer Christiana Figueres proclaimed that climate change is the “the most important negotiation the world has ever faced.” Faced with real problems – financial meltdowns, unemployment, war and genuine human suffering – the world no longer agrees.

It’s a good thing human productivity doesn’t threaten the global thermostat the way the UN would have us believe. If it were, we’d be cooked. Countries rich and poor are backing away from commitments they made years ago during rosier economic times, before the public became aware of Climategate, renewable energy costs and genuine debate.

The Kyoto Protocol, the only binding international agreement signed since the global warming scare began, expires after 2012. Canada, Russia and Japan have publicly declared they will not renew; China and the United States never signed it; and the US has made it plain it is not about to. And poor countries are becoming less enamored about signing on, as they realize hard economic times mean there will be little climate “mitigation” and “restitution” money coming their way from (formerly) rich countries.

Even die-hard warmists increasingly recognize that bureaucratic solutions hatched at these conferences are rife with waste, fraud and abuse. They may enrich a few, at the expense of everyone else, especially the poor. But they are powerless to control Earth’s climate.

In March, German investigators reported that 850 million Euros disappeared, when shady companies swarmed into carbon trading, emissions and energy businesses. Criminal enterprises raked in tens of millions, fended off regulators with delaying tactics, and then announced bankruptcy or vanished. An Italian sting operation resulted in arrests of wind farm developers who billed the country for subsidies, but never produced a kilowatt of electricity.

London’s liberal Guardian newspaper was aghast to learn that the World Bank’s Biocarbon Fund had arranged to pay European “entrepreneurs” $1 million to establish a system under which 60,000 Kenyans would restrict themselves to farming under rigidly controlled, inefficient, “sustainable” techniques. For that they will receive $1.4 million over 20 years.

That’s right, the beneficent World Bank will enrich more Europeans, so that 60,000 Kenyans can receive $23.83 apiece annually for 20 years of drudgery, poverty and misery: a princely $1.19 a year!
