Congrats to the
Los Angeles Lakers who won the
2010 NBA
Championship on Thursday night over the
Boston Celtics 83-74 (
Game 7 Live Blog). The Lakers won the series 4 games to 3.
It was an ugly game for three quarters before the Lakers rallied in the 4th to come from behind and win the franchise’s 16th championship. Kobe
Kobe Bryant was given the
Bill Russell Finals MVP Award for his play against Boston. Some, including myself believe it should have gone to
Pau Gasol for his immeasurable play throughout the series.
Bryant struggled in the closer tonight but finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds despite shooting just 6-24. Gasol had 19 points and 18 rebounds.
Ron Artest was strong as well with 20 points – 5 rebounds – 5 steals.
The title is the 5th for Kobe and 11th for Lakers head coach
Phil Jackson. Phil is undecided at this point if he will return to the Lakers next year.
