Hurricane
Earl was upgraded to a "major category three" storm this morning by the
National Hurricane Center. It looks like Labor Day Weekend could be
rather wild for some of us. The last hurricane to hit the northeast was
1991's Hurricane Bob.

The last major hurricane to hit the Northeast was Hurricane Bertha in 1996. Although, it may not have still been a "hurricane" when it made it's way up the east coast it did cause significant damage.
