John Lennon’s Killer Mark David Chapman Denied Parole

Mark David Chapman, who shot and killed John Lennon nearly 30 years ago, was denied parole for a sixth time on Tuesday.

He was rejected by a three-member parole panel whom he met via video conference at Attica Correctional Facility.

Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, has repeatedly expressed her wish that Chapman remain in prison. Her husband’s killer, who first came up for parole in 2000, can try again in 2012.

Chapman murdered the music icon outside the Dakota apartment building on New York’s Upper West Side on December 8, 1980.

Lennon would have turned 70 next month.
